
Dr. Dvora Efrat, is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalyst who works with adults, children and adolescents. She also sees couples and has a certificate in EFT Couples Therapy.
Dr. Efrat obtained a BA in Art. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the City University of New York’s Graduate School & University Center. She successfully completed her internship at North Central Bronx Hospital, where she gained in-depth experience working with patients with severe psychopathology. An adjunct professor of Clinical Psychology at Brooklyn College, Dr. Efrat taught courses on psychopathology, testing, theories of personality, and child development. She held advanced seminars in psychotherapy, and supervised graduate interns and externs at the Brooklyn College Counseling Center . Until 2005, Dr. Efrat was a Psychologist in the Partial Hospitalization Program at North Central Bronx Hospital, where she also supervised psychologists in training on their internship and graduate students on their externship.
Dr. Efrat is a graduate of the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR) where she is currently Chair of Admissions.
Dr. Efrat is pursuing further training in Psychosomatic Psychoanalysis with IPSO Med.
